As one of the oldest art forms known to humankind, storytelling has the power to move and motivate like no other form of communication. Indeed, even as one of the oldest art forms, storytelling has become even more important in creating cross-cultural dialogue in today’s world of increasing technology.
The OKC StorySLAM is a fun open-mic event that allows the everyday storyteller to share a personal perspective on a common theme.
The slams take place on the 3rd Friday of each month at the Istvan Gallery, 1218 N. Western in Oklahoma City. Anyone is welcome to participate as a listener or storyslammer. The event is geared towards an adult audience. Sign-up begins at 7:00 PM and stories start getting told at 7:30 PM.
